Welcome to Ditton Priors

Ditton Priors is situated at the foot of the Brown Clee Hill, which boasts the highest point in Shropshire.

By road it is 8 miles to Bridgnorth, to the West, and 13 miles to Ludlow, to the Southwest. Shrewsbury is 21 miles away to the Northwest.

The village has many amenities, including a doctors’ surgery, a primary school, a shop, a butcher’s, a pub, a cafe and a garage.

The population at the 2021 census was 798 people.

The history of Ditton Priors can be traced back to the Domesday Book, and an active local history group maintains the village archives and manages a local history centre where recently upgraded display boards tell the history of the village and the surrounding areas. Several times a year talks are organised with guest speakers who are experts in subjects relevant to the village and to Shropshire.

Meetings occur every second Thursday in the small hall of the village hall at 7.30pm.

Please enter via the side door after 7.15pm.

There is no scheduled meeting in August.
