Welcome to Ditton Priors Parish Council Website

Ditton Priors is situated at the foot of the Brown Clee Hill, which boasts the highest point in Shropshire. The community is administered by Ditton Priors Parish council and unitary authority Shropshire Council. The Parish includes the hamlets of Middleton Priors, Derrington, Ruthall, Upper and Lower Netchwood and Ashfield, with a total of 5000 hectares and a current population of about 650 with around 300 dwellings.

The nearest towns are Bridgnorth (7 miles to the east) and Ludlow (12 miles to the south). It is within easy commuting distance of Shrewsbury, Telford and the Black Country. For information on local public transport click at the link: www.shropshire.gov.uk/public-transport 

The Village of Ditton Priors has a supermarket, butchers, post office, pub, church, garage that sells petrol, newspapers and does mots and general garage stuff, two care homes, a school and nursery on site, Oak Farm a centre for adults with need and an industrial estate with facilities for up to 200 jobs.  The industrial estate is on the site of a former military armaments depot. There are several farms throughout the Parish.  The village hall is thriving with many different activities taking place on a regular basis.  There is also a playing field with football pitch, MUGA managed by a volunteer committee and play equipment.  A small volunteer group work with Shropshire Council to keep the rights of way fit for purpose.
